How are Grillo’s Pickles made?

Grillo’s Pickles are made in a ‘fresh pickling’ process with garden-fresh ingredients, and no added chemicals or preservatives. Our pickles are made cold, shipped cold, and sold cold.

Do Grillo’s pickles need to be refrigerated?

Since Grillo’s products are a completely fresh pickle made without chemicals or preservatives, they are not fermented. This means they need to be kept at refrigerated temperatures to ensure both quality and freshness are maintained.

Help! How do I open the jar?

Our original jars had a bit of a learning curve to opening & closing them, so we are in the process of updating all of our jars to a new screw top model. If you come across an old jar, you can reference this handy video with tips, but we’re excited for our new jars to be hitting shelves as we speak!

How long do Grillo’s Pickles last? What is the shelf life?

We recommend that our products are consumed by the “best-by” date printed along the edge of the lid. The pickles shelf life is the best-by date printed on the container regardless of whether the container has been opened or not.

My pickles are gone, what should I do with the leftover brine?

Drink the juice! Alternatively, a lot of our fans tell us they use it for marinating meats, mixing in salad dressings, and adding to your favorite drink recipes.

Which are the hottest of the Grillo’s spicy pickles?

We make two levels of spicy pickles: Hot and Blazing Hot. The Hot variety is more approachable for people looking for a little heat, but the Blazing Hot is for those looking for all the heat they can handle.

Our pickles are made in a ‘fresh pickling’ process using vinegar as the main agent, so they do not contain active cultures and do not go through the fermentation process.

Are Grillo’s Pickles gluten-free?

Grillo’s products have been tested and meet the FDA standards for gluten-free products. We do random testing of our products to make sure we continue to be in compliance. Please note that some of our products are made and processed in the same facilities that also process wheat. There are processes in place to ensure there is no cross contamination. We just advise that you take this information into consideration before enjoying our products.
